How do the puzzle numbers work?
Puzzle #1 went live on March 1, 2026. Since then we have posted one new 5×5 grid every day at midnight UTC, and each one gets the next number. The 5×5 and 7×7 grids posted on the same day share a number, so #100 on both is from June 8, 2026. The number never changes, so you can use it to find a grid again or share it with a friend.
How can the archive help you get better?
- Replay a grid you lost. You already know part of the answer, so focus on the route. Try to finish in fewer swaps than last time.
- Aim for 10 swaps. Every grid here can be solved in exactly 10. Before each move, ask if it fixes two tiles.
- Check the route afterwards. Each grid's hints page shows a shortest swap by swap solution. Compare it with yours to see where you lost swaps.
- Play old grids without pressure. Archive games never touch your stats or streak.
The archive month by month
These numbers come straight from the grids in this archive. More greens at the start means fewer tiles left to place. More pair swaps means more chances to fix two tiles with one move.
