How do sixteen boards work?
Each guess you type goes onto all 16 boards at once. Every board has its own hidden word and its own colours, so the same guess can be green on one board and grey on the next. You have 21 guesses in total. A board locks as soon as you solve it, and your later guesses only count on the boards still open.
How do you budget twenty one guesses?
You need one guess per board to solve it, so sixteen of your guesses are spoken for. That leaves five for finding letters and fixing mistakes. Three openers that share no letters use three of those five and still leave two spare.
Tips for sixteen words at once
- Scan every board after each guess. On a big grid it is easy to miss a board that just became easy.
- Pick off solved boards fast. A board with only one possible word should be solved right away. It costs one guess either way, and finishing it early clears clutter.
- Guess words that fit many boards. When two boards share a likely word pattern, a guess that tests their difference helps both.
- Take breaks. Your progress on the daily puzzle saves on your device. Come back with fresh eyes.
